Baby Shower Reject

deer invite I was trying to figure out some invitations to mass produce for a baby shower I am helping to give later this month. I ultimately rejected this one as too complicated. I love it, but can you imagine trying to cut out 40 of those little deer? Just the thought makes my fingers and hands start to cramp up! Anyway, I thought I'd share it. I designed it as a pocket that has the information on the card insert. It's pretty simple--just not simple enough to crank out forty. I hope you like it. Take care!signature

Peace Out Pineapple

JBE060 As you are reading this I am at the beach. I didn't want to miss out on the fun this week though. The sketchfest continues. As promised, the Jacksonbelle Embellishments team has another sketch for you to play along with today. We would love for you to join us. Post your creation to the store blog or your online gallery using keyword JBE060 and we'll try to leave you some feedback. Here's my card.  I paper pieced the pineapple to get the variegated color and used SU! markers and blender pen on the leaves. PineappleThis card already has a new home. I needed a birthday card for a pre-teen boy and I thought the kind of funky vibe worked well for a boy. Make sure you check out what the other ladies have made. Serene Green

manly wishesI just love this shade of green--it's so Zen. I just have a quick post for you today. I need to devote most of my time for the next couple of days to getting ready to go to the beach on Monday (I'm going to try to keep the Sabbath holy, though). I have some posts scheduled while I'm gone so make sure you check in on Tuesday for the Jacksonbelle challenge and a little later in the week as well. For now here's a card I made for one of my husband's co-workers who is leaving to do a  Post Doctoral Fellowship in a different state. I wanted it to be somewhat simple and masculine. What do you think? Did I do it?

Thanks for dropping in! Take care.signature

Beeg and Leetle Hugs and Kisses

Today is my anniversary. I have been married 12 years. Next year we’ll be into the teens. It hasn’t all been a bed of roses but I love my husband. It is so nice to be married to someone who makes me laugh. We have a lot of fun together. A few months ago we were watching Nacho Libre  again. There is a part where Nacho is reading a letter he wrote to Sister Encarnacion. He signs it “hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss.” We were cracking up. A few days later David sent me an email and he signed it “beeg and leetle hugs and kisses.” beeg and little x and oAs I was thinking of what I could do for an anniversary card I thought of that so I just went with it. I printed out the sentiment on my computer and just made a simple card (using Nacho Libre themed colors of course). David is, after all, el luchador de mi corazon. :)
